Mushrooms

This is my ode to mushrooms:

I love mushrooms-
Fungi of my heart
How do you taste so pleasant?

Raw and crunchy
Or baked in garlic and oil
You always make a good thing better.

To the soggy mushrooms I pulled up from my lawn:
I don't feel bad
Because you probably would have killed me
If ingested.

But in the store
You tempt me from your
Styrofoam container and plastic wrap.

I add you to food
Whenever I can
Because you are the Fungi of my Heart.


So, if you share my love of mushrooms and have the desire to go out to eat. You should go to the Olive Garden and get their Portabello Raviolli. It is the most amazing thing I've ever eaten there, or in other Italian restaurants. I highly recommend it.
